Travel | Celebrating a 30th Birthday in Barcelona

A couple of weeks ago I travelled to the beautiful city of Barcelona, to celebrate my big brother's 30th birthday with my family. We went for a few days and stayed in a glamorous hotel, right in the heart of the city. This is the second time I have visited Barcelona, and I can't get enough of it. We enjoyed lots of tapas, churros, lots of pretty pastel buildings and of course sightseeing. Whenever I visit a city, I'm fascinated by the culture and architecture and love exploring. One of the highlights was visiting Monjuic, where we took a cable car ride overlooking the city and were able to stop off and visit the castle. Such beautiful views were below us as we sat in a globe like ride in the air. It was so much fun as well as breath taking.
The weather was glorious as we walked a big part of the city, including the famous Las Ramblas and the Arc de triomf.
On our last day, I just had to squeeze a spot of shopping in. I find the shops in Europe a much more memorable shopping experience, everything is put together so beautifully. I visited my favourite stores H&M, Bershka and Zara and wanted to share with you my purchases and also my outfit choices and how I styled them, whilst I was away.

Metallic silver skirt from H&M, I loved the gathered waistband and thought it would be great to wear a top tucked in. See below how I've styled it.

I picked this khaki sweatshirt top up from Bershka, as I love the lace up details.
I don't normally go for slouchy oversized styles, but thought this would look fab worn with some skinny jeans on a warm day.

Fashion | The Ruffle Edit

I hope you are all enjoying your Sunday!...I love exploring fashion and what's trending at the moment. Diving into the high street and picking up on the catwalks, I'm finding lots of exciting trends coming through .. billowing sleeves, beautiful embroidery featuring florals on every fabrication, such as, denim, shirts, tops etc, the cold shoulder as well as the slits in arms, the never ending leopard print, sheerness and not to mention the biggest one being romance and by that I mean ruffles. Ruffles are seen everywhere, around the hems, down the front of tops, sleeve details.. you name it.

So I decided to put together a ruffle edit featuring my popular designs that are bang on trend for this season. The ruffle crop t-shirt from www.rhona-anne.com. This is a cute edition to the wardrobe and signifies the latest in upcoming fashion. Not only does it feature a satin bound ruffle down the front but also different colours are available and leopard is involved!

Pick yours up from £35 with free delivery to look the part this season. Wear with some denim ripped jeans or even mix it up with an embroidered skirt.

I've also put together some examples from the high street and off the catwalks to inspire this beautiful trend and to see how ruffles can be developed. What have you got in your wardrobes that includes this trend?

Fashion | Grey and Cream Vibes

Last week I did a spot of much needed retail therapy with my mum to Touchwood in Solihull.
I LOVE shopping, in fact I think I'm addicted, but I don't care, because I love fashion and everything about it, as you all probably know by now! I get excited by latest trends and colours, and find it inspiring for my own design work.
On rare occasions when I go shopping, I don't find much that I like but this time, I picked up all these beautiful items and as you can see on a theme of grey and cream. I really like buying items that match so I have an instant outfit and can mix and match in similar colours.
I mainly shopped these items from River Island..of course it's my fave! but my favourite piece is probably the embroidered crop top from New Look. It's so beautiful and bang on trend. I'm obsessed with the embroidery trend at the moment and can't wait to pick up some more pieces next time I go shopping.

Textured dress | River Island

Ribbed style long sleeve top | River Island

Embroidered Long sleeve crop top | New Look

Sleeveless knit tank top | River Island

Chunky Grey grid print scarf | River Island

I'm going to pack these wardrobe staples, for my city break to Barcelona next month and I will for sure be styling them up. I think the ribbed cream top would look lovely under the dress and tank top for a layered look and the embroidered crop top would be fab teamed with a leather skirt for the evening or even dressed down with jeans. Finally I cant wait to wrap up in the chunky knit scarf, perfect as a cover up on a chilly night or for travelling.

Grey and Cream - such a gorgeous colour combo for the summer and winter.

Where are your favourite shops to visit on the high street?
