Travel | Salobre Hotel Resort and Serenity - Gran Canaria

Last weekend I returned from the best holiday to Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands with my boyfriend.
We stayed in the most beautiful hotel with the most amazing views, food, staff, rooms you can possibly think of.

Salobre Hotel Resort and Serenity near Maspalomas is far beyond a 5star stay. The moment we arrived to the minute we checked out it was just incredible.
We had a double deluxe room overlooking the stunning golf resort and beautiful palm trees and mountains.

The hotel had a calming and peaceful aroma about it which enabled me to switch off from my busy schedule. There was a lovely scent everywhere you went and it was decorated so modern that every room and section of the hotel was something different.

The hotel had 7 different pools which were stunning and it was nice to go to different areas of the hotel to chill. My favourite had to be the secret pool on level 4. It was gated off so noone knew about it and the views of the mountains were just incredible. I enjoyed my swim and sunbathe at this secret place.
I also loved the rooftop bar, pool and cabana beds. This was amazing if you wanted to chill in an adult only zone and was surrounded by beautiful cacti and pretty pink walkways with streams of water to dip your feet in when hot. This was called sunset on level 11.

As we were staying at the hotel for a total of 9 nights, we were treated to 3 free hours use of the hotel spa - the Aloe Spa. This was a haven of luxury. A warm infinity pool with jets overlooking the resort with sunbeds in the pool as well as cabana beds. There was chilled out music and it was the best afternoon. We also enjoyed the pure air room which clears the mind.

Lastly the food! We stayed half board so breakfast and dinner was included in our stay. I have to say it was the best food I had tasted. Each night there was a theme of different fresh buffet foods including street food, Italian, Spanish and there was fresh fish and just the most incredible selection. Chefs were also on hand to cook dishes for you which was extra special. My favourite was obviously the desserts, with a beautiful selection of perfectly presented dishes and cakes and pastries and not the mention the ice cream with exciting chocolate toppings!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and didn't want to leave. I would most definitely go back as I have found my go to place now. This hotel most definitely screams serenity and I'm so happy I was able to visit and experience such a beautiful place. I would recommend it to anyone for a perfect holiday.
I'm missing the Pink paradise already!

Style | Blackberry Afternoon Tea

Who else loves a bit of afternoon tea?
I have quite a sweet tooth so love trying different ones especially now they are becoming quite a thing. Last weekend I got to try the BlackBerry version at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Birmingham and it was beautiful!

The moment it came out I was so excited by the three tiered stand of little luxuries.
Most afternoon teas consist of sandwiches, cakes and scones but this one was just that little bit extra special, even the colours all matched.

The selection consisted of a choice of 3 scones - plain, fruit AND chocolate chip, don't know about you but I haven't tried chocolate chip ones before so this was definitely a good choice! Then onto the savoury selection which didn't just consist of sandwiches but a beautiful rye bread topped with smoked salmon, bruschetta topped with pesto and tomato and another piece  with chicken and bacon mayo - absolutely gorgeous.

Finally onto the best part... the sweet stuff! There were 5 little sweet treats, a tiny purple macaron, a square of cake topped with a blueberry and buttercream, a small shot glass of yogurt mixed with berries and finished with a pretty edible pansy and finally a bitesize piece of cheesecake....oh and a teeny tiny cherry bakewell... yum!

Not only was it tasty but it was presented in the most beautiful way with a theme of Reds and Purples. It was almost too nice to eat as I didn't want to mess up the presentation!....as you can probably tell by how many photos I took!

It was the best afternoon tea I have experienced and would highly recommend it. Not only that but they do themed versions every season so can't wait to see what next season brings!
